Another  Fedpoly Offa Graduate Bags Presidential Award, Automatic Employment~NEWSEXTRA

Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji has celebrated another graduate of the Institution, Odeyemi Victoria Yemisi who bagged President's NYSC honours, automatic employment and cash reward for diligent service as youth corps member.

The celebration took place at the Polytechnic Main Campus on Monday, 12th April, 2021 when the awardee visited the institution for recognition.

Victoria graduated from Quantity Surveying Department and served in Bayelsa State in 2018. At the end of her orientation programme, she was posted to Ijaw National Academy Kaiama for her primary assignment where she taught Geography.

During her service year, she embarked on personal development projects and was shortlisted for State Governor's award  before she was shortlisted for the Presidential award.

Reacting to the award, Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa,  Dr. Lateef Olatunji commended President Buhari led Government for granting employment opportunities to the youths corps members and rewarding their dedication and commitment.

Dr. Olatunji further congratulated the two awardees from the Federal Polytechnic Offa for making the Polytechnic proud at the national level. He therefore encouraged other students to take cue from the awardees and be good ambassadors of the institution at all time.

The first awardee, Ibrahim Aliyu graduated from Computer Engineering Department and served in  Darazo LGA, Bauchi State where he  led the school football team to win second position in Coca-Cola inter school competition, he also qualified the school as the representative of Bauchi State in 2017 finals of shell inter school football competition, he renovated the NYSC corps members lodge in Darazo, he initiated and completed the construction of a block of four(4) toilets in GSS, Darazo and was honored by Bauchi State Governor before he was being shortlisted for President's Honours.

The second awardee, Odeyemi Victoria Yemisi constructed  a bus-stop at the entrance of Kaiama Town, 
she donated public address system to Ijaw National Academy, Kaiama, she distributed 1000 notebooks, 4 packs of biro and 10packs of pencils to Rev. Proctor Memorial school, Kaiama, Kaiama Grammar School and Ijaw National Academy, Kaiama. She distributed sanitary pads to over 120 students in Government Girls Secondary School, Kaiama, she distributed uniforms to 10 indigent students of Kaiama Grammar School and 6 pupils of Rev. Proctor Memorial school, Kaiama, she distributed socks to students of Kaiama Grammar School, she established Press Club in Ijaw National Academy, Kaiama among others.

The award ceremony was held on 11th of February, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
