Popular transporter and Lagos Island indigene, Alhaji Abdulazeez Adekunle Lawal, fondly addressed as 'Kunle Poly' has appealed to youths across Lagos to join forces in wading off enemies of the state from the ongoing wanton destruction of what he described as a commonwealth.

'Kunle Poly' believes that the massive attacks on Lagos "is not only condemnable but also disrespectful to the entire good people of Lagos."

Alhaji Lawal made this assertion in a press release nissued on Monday afternoon, -a copy of which was made available to GidiNews newspaper.

He said: "it is with a high sense of responsibility that I address the teeming youth of Lagos on the aftermath of the #ENDSARS protest which culminated to the rampage in Lagos Island and some other parts of Lagos State recently. The most important thing is that the destruction of our iconic buildings and uncommon heritages which must stop henceforth.

"We also need to constantly check on ourselves from time to time and comply with the laws of the land in our quest to achieve that Lagos of our dream."

'Kunle Poly' who expressed sadness over the arson visited on the ancient palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, said the invasion was not just an attack on the person of the respectable monarch but an affront on the rich culture of the Yoruba. He said those responsible have only desecrated the reverred stool of the 'alase ekeji orisa', -a representative of the gods.

"...the unfortunate incidence of rioting mob unleashed at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Akiolu on Wednesday 21st of October 2020 has left me devastated. I say that this is not only condemnable but also disrespectful to the entire good people of Lagos. " He said.

The popular transporter therefore appealed to Lagos Island youth in particular and the state in general to support the government of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in its drive to build a Lagos of pride to all.

He said: "The youths as leaders in their own right, must give their constant support to the Government of Lagos State and our traditional institutions, most especially, our highly referred Oba of Lagos- Oba Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Akiolu.

"As an indigene of Lagos Island, I preach peace, love and cooperation to all the youth in order to bring us to achieve the common goal of our founding father for Lagos." He added
