We Have no Plans to Increase Ticket Price, ACOMORAN PRO tells Ogun Members~NEWSEXTRA

In relations with the reported protest by motorcyclists, also known as Okada riders, who came out in their hundreds to kick against “incessant hike in the cost of tickets” in Abeokuta yesterday, the Public Relations Officer of the Amalgamated Commercial Triciycle AndMotorcycle,  Owners, Repairers And Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State chapter, Aremo Akinlolu Agunbiade, has assured members in the state that the Association has no plan to increase its tickets.

The announcement was made known this morning in Abeokuta by Aremo who said that increasing ticket prices was not part of the Association's plans.

He said, "This announcement has become necessary after our attention was drawn to a report that motorcyclists, also known as Okada riders stormed the Abeokuta South local government secretariat, protesting the planned hike of tickets.

"ACOMORAN Ogun State chapter wishes to make it clear that the Association has no plan whatsoever to increase its ticket price. Riders have just returned to work after a long period of lockdown in the government's efforts to slow the advance of the Covid-19 pandemic, and as such, increasing ticket prices will only add more burden to them.

"We urge our members to go about their daily activities in peace and continue to obey government directives by ensuring that they only convey passengers who use nose covers while they also wear same.

"We give our assurances that the prices of the Association's tickets remains the same with no plan to increase it"

Aremo also noted that ACOMORAN is committed to the welfare of riders and will continue to be supportive to them in their effort to regain their stand economically
