As work begins today due to the lifted lockdown announced by the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Amalgamation Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association (ACOMORAN), Ogun state chapter has urged its members across the state to obey government’s directives on transportation.

This was made known by the state PRO, Aremo Agunbiade when addressing members in Abeokuta, the state capital, this morning.

Aremo said that the directive allows a rider to convey only one passenger at a time. It is also important for motorcycle riders to wear face masks, and ensure that their passengers wear same.

While informing members that failure to comply with these directives has severe consequences, Aremo assured the government of the Association's decision to punish erring members.

He said, "Members of ACOMORAN have always been law-abiding, and will continue to support the government in its efforts towards containing the spread of corona virus.

"The lifted lockdown is an opportunity for our members to find their footings financially after a long period away from work. It is important for our members to work so as to fulfill their financial obligations to their families and immediate environment, but it is also important to obey government directives and medical guidelines to stay safe".

The Association acknowledged the initiatives of the state government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, saying that the efforts of the government in why the number of cases are low in the state.

It further assured the government of its support in ensuring that directives are obeyed by all its members.
